At a mere 18 years old, Amberley was already entrenched in her passion as a serious rodeo contender. Achieving a world championship title, excelling in various competitions, and holding the esteemed position of state president for Utah’s Future Farmers of America were just a few feathers in her cap.

Her aspirations were geared toward becoming a professional rider until everything took a drastic turn on January 10, 2010, when a truck accident irreversibly altered her life, leaving her paralyzed. Her nuggets of wisdom have gathered hordes of people from all walks of life.

The post highlights an upcoming event titled “Walk. Ride. Rodeo.” featuring Amberley Snyder in the flesh. The event, hosted by HART Equine Therapeutic Center, Inc., presents her incredible story of resilience and triumph, aiming to inspire and uplift the audience. Its scheduled for Friday, February 16th at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Stevens Point.

Amberley Snyder’s inspirational sojourn

Amberley Snyder’s life took a dramatic turn during a drive to a Denver stock show. Distracted momentarily, she veered into another lane, causing her truck to roll after over-correcting. The accident left her paralyzed from the waist down. Determined to defy the prognosis, she set ambitious goals to walk and ride again, refusing to accept the belief that she couldn’t. Even though she was sitting in bed, if she raised her arm to brush her hair, she could fall over,” said Tina Snyder, Amberley’s mother. “Or when we were driving, if I hit the brake too fast, she’d hit the dashboard. Despite the challenges and emotional lows, she persisted, using her love for riding as a catalyst for her recovery.

Amberley gradually reintegrated herself into riding. Her saddle became an unexpected aid in her therapy, enhancing her balance. Just four months after the accident, she defied expectations by getting back on a horse. Her journey back into competitive barrel racing wasn’t easy, marked by setbacks and doubts, but she surpassed her previous performances. Now a motivational speaker, she shares her experiences, advocating for perseverance and offering guidance to others in wheelchairs.
