The rodeo fans wait for the PBR Camping World Team Series all year long. Recently, they made the trip to the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Missouri to bear witness to history in the making. Coming into the ring as fan favorites, the Texas Rattlers had the loudest cheer from the crowd. But one home-grown bull-riding prodigy gave the strong Texan team a crushing defeat.
Kade Madsen is in his rookie year at Missouri and has already found a home in the Missouri Thunder. Bull-riding is in his blood, which he proved just a few days back in Oklahoma during the 2023 PBR Team Series Freedom Fest. His big brother, Briggs Madsen, joined him during the competition and helped him secure the win. Now, Kade Madsen has proven that he is just as lethal in any other circumstance.

The Texan Rattlers had 34 qualified rides and were coming to the event with high expectations of success. Compared to the strong team from Texas, the Missouri Thunders had just 14 qualified rides, which was the lowest among all the teams. Despite the odds stacked against them, Kade Madsen pulled off an exceptional feat. He rode three bulls and earned the top scores on the rodeo. Madsen’s scores became the leading scores of the team this year and earned high praise from head coach Luke Snyder. Snyder spoke to PBR, saying, “Kade (Madsen) is a little superstar in the making, you know”.
The experienced bull rider also said that Kade Madsen has what it takes to become a PBR world champion. Even at 18 years old, Kade Madsen has become the star rider for his team and earned the respect of his colleagues. Fellow Thunder team members Qynn Andersen and Joao Lucas Campos gave solid performances, allowing the team to have an early lead. When the Texas Rattlers’ star Braidy Randolph mounted a strong challenge, they confidently handed the reins to Kade Madsen.
Randolph secured 174.5–89, and with three outs remaining, there was no hope for a recovery. However, Madsen pulled the carpet from under the Texan’s feet by securing his first 90-point ride. The bullriding world was left in awe when he entered the field again for the last two outs and brought the team tally to 264.5–89. While Madsen’s epic ride will go down in rodeo history, there was no short of heroism at the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena that day.
