The American Rodeo is an exciting time on the calendar for industry enthusiasts. The richest one-day rodeo, a near-hundred events, and an exceeding bunch of enthusiasts and athletes in contention provide a glimpse of the events that AR entails. Now that the sport celebration is nearing the brink, the live journey through has only grown to be interesting by the day.
The road to American Rodeo includes the nation split into regions to find the top athletes proceeding into the ultimate showdown. Following the west-regional event last week, the Jim Norick Arena in Oklahoma City welcomed athletes for the Central Region semi-finals. And as the event saw a successful end, it was a spectacle for ‘the books’ in the organization’s words.
A look at the event winners

The Central Regional Semi-Finals was said to feature 100 athletes from the qualifying events and some more from PRCA/WPRA top rankers. In the culmination of the finest of rodeo athletes, the semi-finals hosted 6 winners across 5 events on Day 1. “Round 1 of The American Rodeo Central Regional Semi-Finals is in the books,” the American Rodeo Instagram post read following the event on the 18th.

First on the list was the Barrell Racing victor, Dale Long. Recording 15.146 seconds, Long added a second win to his name for the week, following Futurity Reserve Championship qualification. For Breakaway Roping, Bleu Hall, 4th at WCRA Stampede, took home the win with 1.90 seconds on board. DeWeldon Watson, a qualifier at the 2024 San Antonio Rodeo followed next on Tie Down with 7.97 seconds. While Jacob Talley conquered Steer Wrestling with 3.58 seconds Pedro Egurrola/Little Michael Camelot Jr.* won the team roping.
The winners alongside a few other names will be heading into the regional finals on Saturday. The Tulsa Fairgrounds in Tulsa, Oklahoma will host the Central Regional Finals; following which, the athletes will set their eyes on the American Rodeo.

All eyes on the American Rodeo
Since 2014, the American Rodeo has grown to be one of the best-loved events in the community. Arlington, Texas will take center stage every year in March, drawing the attention of the finest of athletes and the ever-curious enthusiasts. This year, Globe Life Field will mark itself as the arena while contender athletes will race for a chance at a $1 Million prize purse. Last year more than 2,500 rodeo athletes competed across the country on the road to the event. The presiding year might expect a similar response with the season proceedings.

However, before the athletes reach Texas for the final showdown, regional winners will have to face each other first. On the 10th Feb top 5 from each three regions will lock horns to walk the final path to the American Rodeo.
