Petco Park’s annual rodeo event comes with a half-a-million dollar prize with world-class cowboys ready to lock horns in a sold-out contest. As it debuts in San Diego, America’s Finest City crowds welcomed it with fervor, excitement, and a little bit of fire. While the fans said they were excited about the rodeo’s arrival in San Diego, animal rights groups thought otherwise. Organizing the protests, grassroots activist Ellen Ericksen said, “Don’t support the rodeo”. Calling out the bucking bulls, she added, “Beaten up and abused for your entertainment”.
After the announcement last year, the groups sued the organizing bodies to stop the event. However, the judge ruled in favor of the show. The event kicked off yesterday and will run till 14th Jan with action-packed shows lined up in the schedule. Over 12000 people are expected to cheer the riders across three days with Sunday already sold out. Despite the heat surrounding the gates, Friday crowds still witnessed some exhilarating action.
