The PBR when it saw its origin in the 1990s by 20 bull-riders, neither the founders nor the world knew how far it would progress or last. Now fast forward to 30 years, and the organization stands as the most reliable ground for the bull riding community. Every year, the PBR hosts multiple versions of bull riding events helping the rodeo enthusiasts saddle up and let their feet on the ground. From weekly stockyard showcases to bigger events like that of a Team Series, PBR has something for all.

Churning multiple events alongside each other, the PBR is set to welcome a new one soon. In January next year, PBR will be back to host another one of its most awaited events for the 8th time in Michigan. The event, acting as an expansion tour, will hold more to its final prize than the title itself. The bull riders racing down to compete will also aim to qualify for PBR’s biggest and most valued contest.

Over the course of days in January next year, Grand Rapids, Michigan, will host the PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour. The organization’s expansion series event will feature not only the renowned artists but also the young and aspiring bull riders. Started in 2014 for the primary reason of expansion, the competition will also provide a ground for participants to qualify for the Unleash The Beast contest and further to the PBR World Finals.

On January 19th and 20th, Grand Rapids will host 40 bull riders from around the world alongside equally talented animal athletes, reported PBR. The first part of the series, The Top Talent will be held on the 19th, Friday, at 8:00 p.m. On the second day of the series, the Championship round will surface the venue at 7:00 p.m., calling for a tough audience and a tougher competition.

The Velocity Tour highlights itself for the stakes it provides to the bull riders. A magnificent performance in the series has the potential to bring a shift in the world standings. Fighting for more than one of the set benefits, the champion cowboy last year put on a mouth-gapping performance for both the audience and the bull riders to take home what he came for.

When PBR held the PWVC this year at Michigan, the arena hosted a sold-out show. As the audience gathered for a house full, the 33-year-old rider from Kirksville, Casey Coulter, made sure to have the lights on him. Performing inside Van Andel Arena, Casey seized a 3-on-3 ride for the night. For his first ride atop Warpath, Casey scored an 86-point ride finishing third on the scoreboard. Entering round 2, it was another 86-point ride for the bull rider atop Bean Time.

Heading for a win with his 3rd round, Coulter rode Jet Black to secure an 84-point ride in the championship event. The final performance of Coulter led him to clench the title for the series. According to KTVO, it took the champion 14 years to earn his professional win. And when he earned the first one in 2022 at PWVC, the bull rider made sure to keep up with the momentum.
