The PRCA’s Adirondack Stampede is one of the most loved rodeo events in the region. Besides offering thrilling performances of riders, the event embraces entertainment welcoming of all ages. This year around, the event announced its presence on the 3rd and the 4th of November; hosting the pro rodeo’s top national and regional competitors. However, with the end of the exciting event, Gus the Brahman had the celebrations still going.

Gus, who is a saddle-broke American Brahman steer, is known to be a big pet. Owners Dan and Charlene Welsh take him around the events to help promote his breed and agriculture; while people get a chance to interact with him. However, after completing his schedule at the Adirondack Stampede, Gus found new fans and love away from his regular field of play.

Burger King welcomes Gus

On the 5th, an employee at Burger King posted a series of photos on Facebook featuring Gus and Dan at the fast food joint. The bull who was all saddled up, was seen sporting a Burger King crown as he posed.Gus the Brahman You Rule!!! Thank you for the visit!!,” the post read. Dan, grateful for the hospitality, reshared the post on his page. He wrote “The crew at Burger King in Glens Falls NY is awesome! We love stopping by when we’re in town for the Adirondack Stampede Rodeo.”

Gus, with his remarkable schedule, seems accustomed to the events and the love from fans. Starting his schedule in January, Gus has traveled across the state of Pennsylvania; garnering fans all over. During his time at Adirondack Stampede, the beast was seen helping a social service with their toy drive. Gus, upon receiving the heart-warming treatment at Burger King evoked a response from the fans well known of him.

The rodeo community backs the love

The beloved bull has been greeted by thousands of rodeo enthusiasts throughout his career. Exuding his charm everywhere, adoration found its way for the bull in the comments of the post. A fan wrote, “Love it! King Gus!! Thank you for sharing,” while another shared love for him commenting, “Gus is the king, such a gorgeous boy.”

Fans also expressed their gratitude for the gesture, commenting, “Awesome!” followed by “Love the crown.” Another one of the users expressed their love for Gus after their first encounter; aligning well with the fans. The user wrote, “We all love you Gus after meeting in Attica.” The four-legged friend had made his presence in Attica for another rodeo early in August. While one reminisced about the past, a fan remained curious of further sightings. “When will you be back in the area? We would love to meet you,” the comment read. The owner stated that it would be only in the coming year.

While Adirondack Stampede might not see Gus for another year, the bull will be continuing on with his schedule for the rest of the year. His next stop is likely to be at the American Finals Rodeo at Garwood Arena on November 10th and 11th.
