This disastrous incident unfolded during the Cavalcade Rodeo event on Wednesday, when two horses lost their lives during the entry for a rodeo performance. Along with the deaths of the horses, humans were also injured during the accident.
Jeff Bute, the chairman of Cavalcade Rodeo, informed Pawhuska Journal Capital that a young girl was riding a horse and was returning to the camp to retrieve the flags when the devastating incident unfolded. In his statement, Bute stated, “It’s devastating. It was a devastating blow for all of us.”
After the accident, the horses lost their lives, and a couple of injured people were transported to the hospital. Cavalcade is a traditional rodeo event organized in Pawhuska and Osage County, and it has been organized every year since 1947.
The event was the 77th edition of the Rodeo, which is celebrated for a week. Anticipation was building for the event as a humongous number of 120 clubs had registered for it, and everyone was excited about the event.

Bute has been the chairman of Cavalcade Rodeo for 19 years, and he has never seen anything like this. There were concerns raised about the conditions of the track at the Osage County Fairgrounds. But according to a report, the accident did not happen due to the track conditions, and the horse that the girl was riding was on track.
