As the bull riders gear up for the season finales with year-end, it has been an exciting time for The PBR Canada contenders; racing to top the presiding Cup Series.
The 2023 PBR Canada Cup Series, presented by Wrangler, made its presence in Feb this year. The season covered six events across the country to arrive on the almost final step to the Nationals; accumulating the best of the country’s riders with each stop. Now, as it held its latest event, the Amisk native bull-rider seized the arena to not just dominate the evening but move up the ladder with astonishing numbers.
Rodeo champ climbs up the ladder

The 2023 PBR Canada Cup Series comprised several stops leading to the National Finals by the year-end. The journey started in Feb at Red Deer, Alberta further covering a few more cities to land at Medicine Hat on the 14 of October. It was a night full of enthusiasm and excitement, with thrilling performances forming the core. However, as 22 riders tried to best the others on the list, the 30-year-old, Jordan Hansen, excellently won the night and the audience.
To open his performance for the night, Hansen entered the arena atop Irish Rebel. Matching the strides of the animal athlete for a complete 8-second ride in round 1, Hansen earned a total of 84 points. As for the next, it was the Bull of the Year contender Langham Kid, who challenged Hansen during round 2. The rider who knew what he was in for maintained his steadiness to put up a score of 89.5 points; the best of the evening reports PBR.com.
Jordan’s perfect 2-for-2 win for the night earned him a total of 129 national points alongside a $100,000 bonus. The evening also pushed Jordan up the ladder to make his spot in the top 10; crucial to making it to the National Finals to be held in November.
Hansen joins big names heading to the finals

After 9 months of events in place, the series will head to Rogers Place, Edmonton, Alberta on the 17th and 18th of November.
With the mouth-gapping stakes, some of the top names in the industry have secured unwavering positions on the standings. The list welcomed Jordan Hansen after his stellar performance in Medicine Hat. Dakota Buttar, who overtook the title held by Nick Tetz in the last Cup series event, currently stands atop the table with 614.50. The champion is then followed by Cody Coverchuk,? (603.66), Nick Tetz (592.50), Coy Robbins (550.66), and Aaron Roy (459.50) in the top five.

After earning 129 points on the 14th, Jordan’s total tallied to 378.50. The total pushed the rider from the 13th position to the 7th, right behind Wyatt Gleeson. For one regular season final, the event will next make a stop at SaskTel Centre, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on the 28th of October; ultimately crowning the Canada Champion on Nov 18th.
