Kaycee Feild is a renowned name in the bull riding arena. The Six-time World Champion has had a stellar career, continuing his father’s legacy forward. However, given the short span of sports careers, racing in particular, Kaycee has decided to step away from the rodeo world.

Kaycee ended as 16th in the World Standings this year with a career earnings of $3.5 million. On the back of a not-so-great year, Kaycee has prioritized his family and his health, over going for another qualification.

Kaycee Fields took to Facebook to announce his retirement. Sharing a heartfelt note, he wrote, “I?ve worked at this craft my entire life. It?s had its up and its downs. But it?s time to step away from the rodeo arena as a competitor. I?m excited to apply the tools I?ve gathered from all of my time and experiences with rodeo to ventures outside of the arena. I?m nothing but grateful for all of the amazing people I?ve met within this rodeo and western culture. I can?t wait to keep pushing the limits and for the next chapter to begin.”

Kaycee further stated that he looked forward to the next chapter of his life. The veteran expressed his gratitude towards the unwavering support he received over the years from fans. “Thank you for your support over the years, I can’t express my gratitude enough.”

The rodeo champion also shared an emotional video, where he could be seen reflecting on his career. The legendary bareback rider suggested that his family was the main reason behind his retirement. However, Kaycee feels blessed to have achieved his dreams and cemented his legacy.

Kaycee Field’s rodeo legacy

Careers end but legacy remains, and so has Kaycee Field always aspired for. Kaycee has made 13 NFR appearances and has won four straight Gold Buckles and four straight NFR Average titles during 2011-2014. The bareback rider further went on to win two more World Titles in 2020 and 2021, taking his tally to 6.

Kaycee also holds the record for most Go-Round Wins at the NFR, 29. Amassing nearly $3.5 million in earnings, he is one of the eight ProRodeo cowboys to do so. Son of Lewis Feild, five-time PRCA champion, Kaycee undoubtedly carried his father’s legacy forward while also cementing his own.
