Kaycee Field has held a remarkable presence in the bareback bronc riding. The rodeo champion marked his beginning in the PRCA back in 2008 and stood to etch his name, qualifying for the NFR. Though he qualified for another 2 the subsequent years, he earned his first win in 2011 and there was no stopping him from then on. Kaycee, son of all-around cowboy champion, Lewis, continued his legacy to go above and beyond.

Through his stellar 15-year career, Kaycee won six?bareback riding world championships; making him the athlete with the most bareback titles in PRCA. However, the rodeo icon, winning over the exciting walk in his journey announced his final goodbye to the sport; calling in fans to bid an honorable and supportive farewell.

Kaycee Field pens a heartfelt note

On the 30th, Kaycee was featured on the?No Spin Rodeo Podcast with Kendra Santos, where he first hinted that he would be leaving behind the journey for a new one. A couple of days later, the rodeo icon took to Facebook to share a heartfelt note for his fans.

I?ve worked at this craft my entire life. It?s had its up and its downs. But it?s time to step away from the rodeo arena as a competitor,” Field wrote as he shared a video on his journey. “This may be the end of an era, but it will be the continuation of a legacy. Thank you for your support over the years, I can?t express my gratitude enough,” Kaycee continued.

Kaycee, throughout his career, held ?13 NFRs and 6 Gold Buckles, with the last one garnered in 2021. With all the events in his name, Field stood entitled to over $3 million in earnings and was reportedly one among the eight in the ProRodeo Cowboys. The legacy definitely was one for the books and his fans backed the stance as they poured in love and support for the bareback rider.

Kaycee Field had an excellent impact on rodeo enthusiasts throughout his career. If anyone had missed that, it wouldn’t be hard to catch up on going through the messages left for him. Definitely a truly genuine cowboy, honorable, talented, yet down to earth & one of the best in the arena and out. A fan wrote, “Kaycee Fields you are a role model to so many little cowboys. I?m sure Louie is smiling proud. We will miss watching you every December but I have no doubt the future holds great things for you and all the future cowboys lives you will continue to impact…”?

The admiration continued as another commented, “It?s been an honor to watch you ride. Your smile after each ride no matter the outcome is a testament to the true man you are. Thank you for being the example any young boy or girl can look up to. You will be missed, but the best of luck in your future endeavors. The love poured in when one exclaimed, “Thanks for being The Greatest!” while?others followed with “Congratulations, you are a true champion,” and “I?m a Forever Fan!!”?Hundreds of people chimed in to thank the legend for his presence and each displayed the greatness Kaycee held. Though the fans wished the best for the rodeo champ’s future, the retirement of a legend couldn’t be rid of bittersweet feelings.
