The 2023 iteration of the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) recently took place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The contest saw participation from several competitors, including a young debutant from Canada. Interestingly, the Canadian Rodeo bagged his first NFR appearance at the young age of 22.

Beau Cooper is one of the hottest rodeos right now, earning many titles and the love of several fans. However, his partner and his number one fan hold a special significance, as she gave Cooper a heartfelt compliment for his NFR hustle. In fact, this was another compliment she gave to the Canadian rodeo after his NFR selection.

Cooper’s partner, Grace Elizabeth took to Instagram and uploaded a story to appreciate her rodeo boyfriend. Grace wrote, “I survived 14 days in Vegas with my Canadians.” The caption also carried a flexed bicep emoji, along with a post showing Elizabeth holding a #TeamBeau banner.

Elizabeth had been making such compliments for several days via her Instagram account. A post she made on 8 December said, “My Money’s on #80,” wherein she showed the serial number badge of Cooper. Moreover, her latest post has a picture of the couple captioned, “Most proud of who you are.”

While Elizabeth is definitely impressed with the skills of her boyfriend, so is the rodeo community. The Canadian has hit the scene hard from the get-go and claimed the 2021 Rookie of the Year title. In fact, Beau Cooper earned his place in the NFR after winning the prestigious Calgary Stampede.

Achieving a breakthrough win with an unorthodox approach

Cooper had everyone cheering for him in the grandstand in July as he screamed with a $50,000 cheque above his head. The young rodeo was also the newest owner of the shining bronze trophy of the Calgary Stampede.

Cooper participated in the event atop a little mare named Catalina which he received from his cousin and established rodeo, Zeke Thurston. Speaking about his win, Cooper said, “In the Final Four, you’ve got to let your hair down and go at it, and that’s what I felt like I did. It just went my way.”

The 22-year-old was criticized by many for using an old poly rope, while the grass rope is the go-to choice of pro riders. However, when the dust settled, it was Cooper who had won the event. “For whatever reason, I’m just confident on using that on her (Catalina), so that’s what I tied on my horn, and we went with that,” revealed the champ.
