Organized by the WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) in collaboration with the Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort, this youth rodeo extravaganza promises to be a game-changer for young talents aged 13-18.

With 81 athletes vying for glory, it’s a celebration of skill, determination, and passion like never before. Tryon International, nestled within the picturesque Blue Ridge Foothills, provides the perfect backdrop for this groundbreaking event. Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort, according to PBR, is one of the most picturesque equestrian facilities in the country located within the Blue Ridge Foothills of Mill Spring, North Carolina.

The venue features multi-discipline international and national equestrian competitions, live music, arts and entertainment, and holiday events year-round.

The price bounty is a whooping $55,000, which is a significant prize pool for the rodeo athletes, especially the emerging ones. There would be a fair share of opportunities to show their exceptional talent.

Eyes on the rodeos for the long run

With the venue offering a one-of-a-kind experience and a stage to portray their athletic art, there are a few promising names on the list to watch for. Colt Bass, a North Carolina native, known for his versatility, will compete in three distinct rodeo events across both ends of the arena: bull riding, team roping (heeling), and saddle bronc riding. Another rising star with the first rank on the WCRA Junior Leaderboard, Abree Brock, will compete in the pole-bending event.

Tryon International is set to host six rodeo disciplines: bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, team roping, and barrel racing. The event will also serve as a qualifier for the WCRA World Championship, which will take place in January 2024 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
