Gearing in for the second season, the Carolina Cowboys are all set for the heart-pumping show in the dirt. The PBR-founded set of rookies ended last year fourth in the standings. In the Team Series Championship the same year, the Carolina Cowboys delivered a strong performance in Round 1 before elimination in Las Vegas. The Cowboys romped over the Arizona Ridge Riders in Cheyenne, Wyoming, recording the first 90-point ride in league history by Boudreaux Campbell. The blistering twists and turns of the league’s inaugural season were even captured in the critically acclaimed docuseries, The Ride.
The leadership of PBR Co-Founder and Head Coach Jerome Davis is returning once again at another debut rodeo series. Before the Cowboys host the PBR founding teams, an announcement hints the Carolina spectators are in for a special treat.

The only pro rodeo team in the hood, Carolina Cowboys is preparing for an intense opening weekend in the Camping World Team Series in Greensboro, North Carolina. From September 22 to 24, each of the league’s teams will play one five-on-five bull riding match against another team on event days. Yesterday, the Cowboys announced their plans for a free, kid-friendly festival to go along with the main event outside Greensboro Coliseum. The Cowboy Days Festival will begin in the local vicinity of the Greensboro Coliseum with a detailed activity schedule released by the PBR site.
The Carolina Cowboys are hosting a series of events for their fans. Here’s how the schedule looks:
- Day one of the team’s White Out day begins at 5:15 p.m. Supporters are invited to wear white, and the Cowboys will display their new white jersey. Later, the team will give men’s grooming products to the first 4,000 supporters that enter the arena.
- The next day at 3 p.m., there will be a Boots and Dukes theme. Fans are invited to wear their best cowboy boots and Daisy Dukes to the festival. They can earn a Carolina Cowboys cowbell courtesy of Funkaway.
- On Champions Sunday at 11 a.m., the first 4,000 fans in attendance at Greensboro Coliseum will get a Carolina Cowboys bandana.
The Cowboy Days Festival is a three-day homestand event that promises to lift the spirit of its supporters with a range of festivities. Here’s what visitors can expect:
- Delightful cuisine and music
- An evening dirt faceoff
- Interactions with several participants, including Davis Rodeo Ranch, Childress Vineyards, and more
- Local food trucks to complement a for-purchase bar
The three-day homestand will be followed by two, two-day neutral site events during the 2023 PBR Teams season. Getting the hood in the right mood for the next show of rookie rigor, the Cowboys have posed a threat on seven teams this season.

Carolina Cowboys rodeo journey in the World Team Series
The 2023 Camping World Team Series season began with bets on the Austin Gamblers as the favorites to win the series title, despite the Las Vegas ending last fall. The Gamblers, led by MVP Jose Vitor Leme, presented a threat to the other seven teams earlier this season. As the season progressed, the Cowboys built a strong rapport with their World Champions Daylon Swearingen and Cooper Davis, among other riders.
As the Oklahoma Freedoms try to start their homestand with a win over the 7-6 Carolina Cowboys, Kansas City Outlaw is set to make its 2023 debut. Despite suffering from injuries, Davis continued to maintain his domination during the first half of the season. With an 8-for-14 show, he led the No. 4 Cowboys. The Cowboys are in on a display of quality to solidify their reputation in the risky sport as the season’s rooster gets hotter.
