JB Mauney’s latest bull-riding accident

The legendary bull rider, worth more than $5 million, was participating in the 89th Annual Lewiston Roundup on Wednesday night. During the bull riding event, in the midst of his ride, he was on Arctic Assassin. The bull bucked violently, causing him to flip and land on his head on the ground. Immediately, fellow riders and the arena’s medical staff rushed to his aid. While receiving assistance, he expressed to those nearby that he believed he had broken his neck.

The crowd gathered at the arena witnessed the bull rider being fitted with a neck brace. Mauney was then transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in an ambulance. At the hospital, he is receiving treatment, and according to the nursing staff, the cowboy is in stable condition. He is scheduled for an MRI test on Thursday, after which the future course of medical treatment will be determined. The young rider, who started bull riding at the age of three, joined the PBR in 2006 and has never looked back since. This is not the first time the legend has been injured; he has faced numerous injuries during his bull riding journey, only to come back even stronger.

This mishap is not the first he has encountered during bull riding. The cowboy, with a 97.90-point ride, has experienced his fair share of the sport’s most challenging aspects. The most recent incident occurred in March of this year when he was knocked off after being struck on the metal chute. He briefly lost consciousness but made a recovery.

In a social media post, he shared that throughout his career, he has endured two broken legs, two feet, had shoulder blades inserted, which kept him away from the arena for over seven months. He also suffered broken jaws, an injured eye socket, and a back injury. He even had a laceration to his liver and bruised kidneys, but he never broke his heart. It was this unyielding spirit that motivated the cowboy to return to the arena after every injury.
