Rodeo sports have lately been gaining a huge surge in popularity. Despite the risks associated with the sport, the number of participants just keeps soaring. According to recent news, a highly accomplished veteran rodeo has decided to join hands with one of PBR’s founding pillars.
While young rodeos are making huge victories, they still have many miles to go compared to veterans. The three-time world champion is making a strong comeback in PBR while donning the same boots, but a different hat.

The Carolina Cowboys make one-eighth of the foundation on which PBR stands. The bull-riding powerhouse recently announced that it is hiring Robson Palermo as its new assistant coach. Palermo is one of the most successful riders to ever set foot in the PBR riding pits.
Palermo was inducted into the Ring of Honor in 2021 and will join forces with Head Coach Jerome Davis. The extraordinarily talented Palermo stands alone amidst the huge crowd of rodeos to have won the PBR World Finals thrice.
In fact, he’s the only rodeo to win consecutive championships in 2011 and 2012. While a 90-point ride is very rare to land, Robson Palermo has secured a total of 37 astonishing 90-point rides.
According to Palermo, “I was very excited when I received the call this past weekend to join the Carolina Cowboys as an Assistant Coach.” Palermo said that he wants future riders to capitalize on his staunch experience of 20 long years to become better rodeos.
Palermo retired from the PBR in 2018 in order to spend more time with his family. However, the legendary rider is all set to return to the sport he has loved forever. The ecstatic veteran concluded by saying, “I’m all in for this task! Let’s go, Carolina Cowboys!” Head Coach Jerome Davis also expressed his happiness at being joined by a worthy colleague.
