Rodeo events are among the primary crowd-gathering attractions in the country. Rodeo is more than just a sport; it embodies a culture and heritage that both participants and the audience connect with. Consequently, these events are often combined with other seasonal and yearly festivities to draw large crowds.

There are numerous renowned and established festive events where rodeos serve as major attractions, such as the Calgary Stampede and Cheyenne Frontier Days. In St. John, the largest city and county seat of Clinton County in Michigan, a rodeo event is held annually as part of its Mint Festival. This year, as in previous years, it was scheduled to take place. However, it encountered a glitch that was quickly addressed.

It’s summertime, and a diverse range of festivals are taking place across the country. People are coming together and attending these events to enjoy and spend quality time with their families. The city of St. John, known as the Mint City, in Michigan is also hosting its annual Mint Festival, which commenced this past Friday. The festivities are spread across the fairgrounds and downtown areas. As in previous years, rodeo events will also be a highlight. The rodeo events are scheduled for August 11th and 12th, 2023.

This year the rodeo event got into a problem during the preparation for the summer event. The bleachers brought to the fairgrounds for spectators to sit on were deemed unfit for use. This put the organizers in a difficult situation, and they had to scramble to arrange replacements. Given the number of festivals being held in the neighborhood, it was no small task. Speaking on the issue, the Mint Fest Rodeo Director Kyle Fullhart said that during big events sometimes such issues arise where the organizers wonder, “Where’s people gonna sit“. He further said that, “We always bring in lots of bleachers anyway“. This was done to ensure that if such an issue arose, they would be able to address it promptly. Despite facing limited availability, they managed to secure a few sets on rent for the opening weekend. The three-day Mint Festival will feature various other events in addition to the rodeos.
