The rodeo community traveled all the way to the town of Cascade. They were drawn by the ninth edition of the annual Cascade Pro Rodeo, which began on Friday and ended on Saturday. The exciting event featured thrilling rodeo action and high-energy performances on both days.
The small town in Montana depends on the rodeo as a major source of entertainment and economic boost. Rodeo fans from all over the region flocked to Cascade, bringing in business to the local hotels, restaurants, and shops. The organizers use the rodeo as an opportunity to give back to the local community in the town.

As per the 2021 census, the town has only 601 residents, and most belong to the poor income groups. Cascade Pro Rodeo brings over a thousand rodeo fans to the little town each year, providing a significant economic boost to the local businesses. The organizers do a lot more than just hosting the rodeo. They use the proceeds from the ticket sales to fund various community initiatives and projects that benefit the residents of Cascade.
Pat Ober, the Cascade Rodeo Association’s president, spoke to 3 KRTV Great Falls and stated, “We bring a lot of money in, we are a nonprofit organization, we divvy that money up to scholarships”. As per reports listed on their website, the organizers have to date, donated over $126,000 in award money to rodeo winners.
They have even given about $12,000 in student scholarships to support the educational pursuits of talented local kids. High school rodeo participants have won over $50,000 in the tournament. The Cascade Pro Rodeo saw the best turnout in 2022, and this year they added more attractions to make it even more exciting for attendees.

Cascade Pro Rodeo 2023 introduces exciting additions to delight attendees
The organizers have brought back the old favorites but added a few more thrilling events to the lineup. In addition to traditional bull riding and barrel racing, spectators can now enjoy mutton busting, tie-down roping, bareback riding, etc. They have even begun a themed event to help a noble cause.

The Cascade Pro Rodeo broke ground on Friday with Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night-themed event. The money raised by this event was doubled by the PRCA and donated to the breast cancer charity. On Saturday, they held a Cowboy Calcutta and McClintock ride event to celebrate the U.S. military. Rodeo fans got to witness the town’s hospitality and bond with them through this unique event.
