On 9th August, Wednesday, cowboys were ready to face the four-legged beast in the arena of the famous Richland County fair. As the buzzer sound vibrated in the air and the gates opened, the cowboys faced 1,500-pound Bulls. However, despite the best efforts of the cowboys, most of them could not control the beast for more than eight seconds before biting the dust. Only a few could tackle the heavy bull, while the others ran towards the emergency.
One of the local cowboys who showed his skills at the arena shared his experience with the media. Dylan Poff, a cowboy from Butler, participated in the rodeo event and lasted on the bull for about 7.3 seconds. Nonetheless, the record was not Poff’s best until now. Interetsingly, he has been riding since the age of six, as he began his journey by riding a sheep, and “it’s been a blast ever since” for the rider. The athlete, who is now 22, then proceeded to ride senior bulls at the age of 12.
Further while talking about his journey in an interview with Mansfield News, the cowboy stated, “I’ve been in the pro rodeo ever since I turned 16.” Poff has participated in many rodeo events all around the world including, in Gillette, Wyoming in 2016. The 22-year-old was also happy to perform in front of such a big crowd at the county fair.

The Butler-based cowboy who wants to participate in many such fairs in the future told the media, “This is a really good-sized crowd. It’s actually a pretty good rodeo. All the bulls are pretty good. I could use a couple months’ worth of rides, but that’s how it goes sometimes.”
