“Worried That They Were Too Bougie”: Down to Earth Rock Climbing Legend Once Illustrated His Love for Certain Elusive Material Possessions

We are all aware of the basic types of equipment that the athletes in their respective sports use. For a surfer, a surfboard and a life jacket are the must-haves, while for a rock climber, a rope and a rappel are the essentials. But, have you ever wondered, what kind of things these athletes add to their shopping carts? Well, to answer this intrigue, rock-climbing expert, Alex Honnold recently shared the devices he possesses and the things he will most likely shop. 

A few days ago, the 37-year-old talked about the things he usually carries with him. Whether on a rock-climbing spree or on an impromptu weekend excursion, Honnold likes to be well-equipped with the essentials. Let’s take a look at Honnold’s cart.

Alex Honnold’s shopping cart

On 6th January 2023, Alex appeared in an interview with ‘The Strategist’ and shared the list of items he possesses and the vitals he would likely buy. As per the report, the first thing that Honnold generally carries with him is the ‘Bose 700 Noise-Canceling Wireless Bluetooth Headphones’. Moreover, expressing his fascination for the headphones, the rock climber stated, “I was worried that these were too bougie….but they’re freaking awesome. I love ’em for flying, for travel, for escaping when you need to”.

The next essential item on the list included the ‘The North Face Summit Breithorn 50/50 Hoodie’. Enthralled by its lightweight design, Honnold asserted, “I’m finding myself in this jacket every day. It’s my new favorite. I find it surprisingly warm for being relatively lightweight”. The next things on Honnold’s itinerary are the ‘Athletic Greens’, vitamin tablets, and ‘ProBar Bolt Organic Energy Chews’.

Furthermore, to carry all the above things with him, the climber uses ‘The North Face Cinder Pack 55′. Interestingly, The North Face backpacks are “the most robust backpacks” he has ever used. So, what else does the climber carry with him?

A soapy affair and a hang board

In 2022, Honnold collaborated with the soap brand, Dr. Squatch and since then he has appeared in many of their commercials. Interestingly, Honnold believes that Dr. Squatch’s soap bar is a “nice product made with natural ingredients”. Therefore, the 37-year-old carries the soap bars with him on every trip and excursion he goes to. 

The final thing that the surfer takes with him on trips is the hang board. The board is usually used for fitness and training purposes. For Honnold, it is his “go-to training tool”. Clearly, the climber likes to be organized for his travel itinerary.
