Another new face in rock climbing?
Though a teenager, Theo possesses great strength. As his father said, “He’s naturally powerful and he’s very competitive, he likes competing mostly pushing himself to do better than last time and give the best of himself”. While Theo has his talent and family support, “But the most important thing there’s a lot of hard work and perseverance.”
According to his father, Blass has a hunger for achieving more, starting from a very young age. Also, the prodigy has ample opportunities ahead. “If everything goes to plan, I think given where he is now if he stays on the same trajectory I think he can get very very strong probably stronger than the strongest climbers at the moment”, his father implied. As the video goes further, it became clearer that Theo is stubborn and can’t wait to reach his goal.
Midtbø compared him with Adam Ondra and Sean Raboutou who also started touching the pinnacle of success at a very young age. Blass, too, like them has an affinity for outdoor climbing and covered the 8c at the age of 10. With his technicality and strong core, he aspires to complete further targets like 9a plus, 9c, and more. He is the youngest person in the world to reach the 9a.
