Deadlift, squat, and bench press are not just the holy trinity of Powerlift at the World Special Olympics. They are the ultimate markers of an athlete’s strength, determination, and endurance. The World Summer Games in Berlin saw Wonho Kang channel all these attributes in a single squat.
Powerlifter Wonho Kang stole both the show and the hearts of the audience as he effortlessly executed a monster squat. Defying all odds, his resilience and strength shone through in a video posted by Sportscenter. The athlete can be seen acing the squat and dominating the competition, without even breaking a sweat.

Kang’s video which is currently making the rounds on Twitter has left netizens’ inspired and awestruck. Aptly captioned “Have yourself a day” the video showcases Kang’s flawless execution and effortless demeanor. The athlete can be seen squatting 584 pounds as if it were another day at the gym. He absolutely dominated when he crushed the squat to perfection.

Needless to say, people at the event and on the internet are now his fans. The venue exploded in rounds of applause as Kang rejoiced. People everywhere else took to the internet to show their awe. Many in the comments complemented Kang while others admired his strength.
Wonho Kang wasn’t the only standout performer in South Korea’s delegation. In fact, this year, the Special Olympics is seeing a wave of talented and focused athletes who are taking their respective sports to another level. Two such athletes who have carved a spot for themselves are women in sports.
Others Who Took the World Summer Games by a Storm

Wonho Kang was not the only athlete to win hearts at this year’s World Summer Games currently happening in Berlin. On his team, South Korea’s representative Lee Eun-seo bagged Gold in her division. Despite her young age of 22 and an intellectual disability, she too, like Kang, defied the odds and earned the love and respect of many at the games.
From the farther end of the globe, representing New Zealand, Lynett Williams took home four medals. Competing in the over 84 kg (185 pounds) class, she bagged one Gold, two Silvers, and a Bronze.

As the Special Olympics World Summer Games continue, more and more special athletes come to the limelight. With an inspiring saga to the name of each athlete, it will be interesting to see how the games unfold further. One thing that is certain though, is that many more inspired moments await.
