The Nebraska Huskers will be facing the Michigan Wolverines in their next match on 17 November. Michigan recently registered a massive win with Kendall Murray in the lead. Kendall is a senior at Michigan while Harper is a Nebraska freshman. This is their first NCAA season together. Harper and the Huskers had come out on top the last time the sisters faced each other. In the October 7 match between the two teams, Nebraska had stunned Michigan with a clean sweep, that too on Michigan’s home soil. However, a tweet by Michigan Volleyball suggests that things might go differently this time around. The tweet carried the caption, “One more round of applause for @kendallmonet after a career match against Rutgers! Career-High in Kills. Hit above .500. Two Aces.”

The tweet actually mentions Kendall’s performance in Michigan’s last match against Rutgers. She gave some of her career-best performances in that match. Riding on which, Michigan took down Rutgers in four sets. With their senior player in form, Michigan will surely look toward revenge for their clean sweep humiliation this time. However, things are not going to be easy for them.

Michigan will face Nebraska on their home ground this time. And the number one team is even more formidable on their home turf. To top it, if Kendall Murray is looking sharp at the moment, her sister Harper is right beside her. In fact, the younger Murray might even seem better. In the October 7 match, Harper Murray came out on top of every aspect compared to Kendall. Harper had 13 kills while Kendall had five, and Harper had 11 digs while Kendall had zero. Harper also had three blocks to Kendall’s two, making her the top one among the two.

Undoubtedly, a sensational battle is going to be unleashed on November 17, both on the team front and on the personal front. Watching the Murray sisters competing against each other is nothing short of remarkable, not only for their passion for volleyball but also for the way they show respect to their father.

Carrying on the sporting dream of their dad

Both Harper and Kendall don the number 27 on their jerseys. This number also holds great significance for the Murrays, as it belongs to their late father, Vada Murray. The Murray sisters seem to have inherited their high athleticism from their father, who was a football player for the Michigan Wolverines. The hard-working police officer unfortunately passed away from lung cancer at 43. However, his daughters carry his sporting dream and legacy on the volleyball court. Their mother, Sarah Murray sees the same traits in her daughters that were present in her late husband.
