The 2022 Grammys just aired, and it had a powerful and moving message of support for Ukraine. In fact, the tribute moved one and all, including Oksana Masters, the American Paralympian of Ukrainian descent.
Due to the war currently going on between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, the world has taken notice. In that vein, the Grammys decided to pay tribute to all the Ukrainian war lost in the war.
Born in Ukraine, Masters took to Twitter to express her praise for the tribute at the Grammys. Additionally, there were Ukrainian artists at the Grammys too, which Oksana appreicated and mentioned.

Oksana Masters is all praises for the 2022 Grammys Ukraine Tribute
The 2022 Grammy Awards were a great sight to behold. Not only were they a celebration of music as the Grammys always are, but they also celebrated freedom and peace.
The tribute began with a pre-recorded message by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. After that, singer John Legend opened the act with a beautiful performance of the song ‘Free’.

Furthermore, Ukrainian artists joined him on the stage, including musician Siuzanna Iglidan, singer Mika Newton, and even poet Lyuba Yakimchuk. At the end of the tribute, a donation page for Ukraine showed up, where viewers could help out the nation.
Oksana Masters, who is a 17-time Olympic medalist, took to Twitter to praise the Ukraine tribute at the award show. “Amazingly beautiful tribute to Ukraine,” she wrote. She also mentioned the “talented Ukrainian performers at the Grammys”.

Then, Oksana Masters thanked the Recording Academy, which hosts the Grammys, for “this beautiful moment for all Ukrainian(s)”. Clearly, Oksana, like all Ukrainians watching all over the world, felt moved by the rousing tribute.
Masters was vocal about a problem with the Paralympics
At the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, Oksana made history by medaling in each of her seven events. Thus, she also broke the U.S. record for career Winter Olympics medals with fourteen medals now to her name.
However, she had expressed disdain over the way the International Paralympic Committee classifies the Paralympic athletes. Athletes are classified by the degree of impairment.

Hence, the science remains imperfect when it comes to classifying thousands of disabled athletes. In that vein, misclassification of athletes can result in an uneven playing field.
Masters, who had talked about the unfairness of the competition, clarified that she intended to direct those comments to potential misclassification. “It’s been an issue for a very long time, and it’s not being addressed,” she had said in an interview.

The IPC responded and said that while they do not disclose details about the classification of athletes, they would treat all allegations of misrepresentation seriously.
