In a recent event, the Ohio State Men’s Gymnastics team rocked the gymnastics world, not with their remarkable stunts and skills but with sudden controversial remarks while the Illinois women’s gymnastics team was attending an event. The actions that were supposed to exemplify a spirit of sportsmanship have turned out to be a sour action coming from young athletes.

Abby Mueller took to her social media handles and has called out the misstepping reactions of the men. Mueller added, “Ohio state men’s gymnastics said “put it in our mouth” and chanted “lose weight” to my team today❤️❤️ I would say this is an extremely good example of great sportsmanship during women’s history month…” In a sarcastic tone, Mueller pointed out how inappropriate and offensive the comments made by the men appeared to her.

While the sports realm is celebrating dedication and talent and are promoting mutual respect and discipline such an incident has shaken the online world. Such an outrageous action serves as a stark reminder of the challenges that athletes continue to encounter in a floor of sportsmanship and gender equality.
