Recently, a tweet by rap artist Young Thug caught everyone’s attention, as the rapper is currently in jail. He was arrested on May 9, 2022, for conspiracy to violate the state’s RICO act and street gang charges. The Atlanta-based rapper was arrested along with another famous rapper, Gunna. Recently, he tweeted tagging Michael Phelps sharing a conversation that he was having with his roommate in jail.

Direct from jail, Young Thug, who was involved in a $6 million lawsuit, sent legend Michael Phelps a daring challenge via Twitter. His tweet read, “I’m talking with my roommate and we’re wondering if you could swim 100 miles from the middle of the ocean back to shore.” In no time, the tweet became a topic of discussion on Twitter. Users started tweeting their opinions, whereas some wondered how he was tweeting from jail. Thug asked Phelps how long he thinks that particular swim would take.

Shortly after Young Thug’s question to Michael, he replied, indicating his confidence to pull off the strenuous task. His reply tweet read,” Yeah. I think I could make it.” Fans loved Michael’s confidence, and fans showed tremendous support in the comment section. Some fans called him the ‘GOAT’ while some asked him to live stream it.

The Olympic gold medalist has often revealed the importance of music in his life. Michael mentioned how music helps him calm down and prepare to get into the mindset before a race. While preparing for a race, as Michael enters the stadium, he often has his headphones on. Phelps revealed that ‘Future’ was one of his favorite artists. Speaking on that, he said,” There’s no rapper today more inspiring than Future. His optimism is in his name.”
Michael recalled the picture that went viral while he was getting ready for the 200-meter semi-final at the Rio Olympics. “Remember in Rio when I made that face that was all over the internet? I was in my zone with Future’s ‘Stick Talk”, he said. The champion swimmer has also been used as a reference in many rap songs. One such song was from Akon, featuring, Lil Wayne and Jeezy called ‘I’m So Paid’. The lines in which Phelps was mentioned were, “Gold chains around my neck just like Michael Phelps.”
