“I’m So Sorry for Your Loss”: Dwayne Johnson Extends Support to Friend Lindsey Vonn as She Mourns Mother’s Demise

Lindsey Vonn is one of the most successful skiing icons of this generation. The Alpine skiing icon has proved herself multiple times on the World stage. She won four world overall championships and was the second woman to achieve this incredible feat. Recently, the champion skier shared some heartbreaking personal news on social media.

After an outstanding debut at the World Championships at the young age of 16, Lindsey never looked back. In her autobiography, ‘Rise: My Story’, she revealed a lot of untold stories about her life. The star Alpine Skier credited her family for the sacrifices that they made for her to be successful.

Lindsey’s mother was her biggest cheerleader and support. A few months back, she revealed that her mother was battling ALS, a progressive neurological disease that weakens muscles. Lindsey would post updates about her mother’s recovery and battle against the disease on Instagram. “Mom has been the picture of strength and more specifically, resilience”, she captioned one post describing her mother’s fighting spirit.

Recently, she shared a heartbreaking post in which she revealed that her mother has passed away. Lindsey’s mother, Lindy, battled the disease for a year. “I am so grateful for every moment I had with her but I am also thankful that she is no longer suffering and in peace. She was a shining light that will never fade and I will forever be inspired by her,” she captioned the post.

Lindsey received a lot of support from her colleagues and friends in the film industry. Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson extended his support to friend Lindsey and wrote, “I’m so sorry for your loss, my friend. Sending you and your family love, light & mana.”

Lindsey revealed that her mother had a monumental role in shaping her career. Her mother was Lindsey’s source of motivation and inspiration. Lindy would accompany her to a majority of her competitions ever since she was a junior skier. Because of the sacrifices that her parents made, she could focus on her skiing career without distractions.

Lindsey’s family moved from Colorado to Minnesota to support her skiing career. Her mother stood by her during her injuries and shortcomings. Lindsey was inspired by her mother’s perseverance. Even when Linsey was inducted into the Olympics Hall of Fame, she got emotional while speaking about her mom. “She’s been so optimistic and positive my entire life, and I think that’s where I’ve gotten that optimism from”, she said.
