The Sunday Evening in Lodz, Poland, anchored an echo of the US Women’s Volleyball team’s victory across the globe. The air was thick and tension was high on the FIVB Road to the Paris Olympics Qualifiers. In a spectacular fashion, the US Women’s team gathered accolades for their nation by defeating Germany. The history beckoned their electrifying performance. As the golden ticket to Paris was at stake, the team, with their unyielding spirit, performed their best.

With incredible resilience, the team railed back their formidable rival, Germany. The final score on the board was 25-21, 25-9 and 25-16. They garnered this success through a loud battle cry. Now the team is ready to show their charismatic power in the upcoming Paris Olympics. The players belonged to prestigious universities and colleges. Top universities that produced talented women’s volleyball players include Nebraska, Stanford, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Texas, and Pennsylvania. As a matter of interest, $12.39 Billion worth of college adds three more names to their alumni list.

University founded in 1855 adds 3 more names

Pennsylvania State University, on their Wikipedia page, mentioned  18 appearances from the Volleyball team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Two members from the Women’s team of this university clinched gold. In terms of the number of appearances made by the university, Volleyball ranks fourth after Track and Field, Gymnastics, and Fencing. 

The Pennsylvania State University adds three names from the US Volleyball women’s team to its prestigious alumni list. Ali Frantti, Haleigh Washington, and Micha Hancock are the three top-soaring names in the list from this Olympic Qualifier. They got their name penned on the list of prestigious alumni. For them, it is great news to celebrate and feel proud of themselves. Ali Frantti holds the position of an Outside Hitter in the Volleyball court. Her jersey number is 30. She made her debut in the Senior National Team during the 2022 Volleyball Nations League. Moreover, she holds a record of professionally performing in Italy, France, and Slovenia. She played as a substitute in the 2023 Volleyball Nations League Final Round and secured one point with a kill.

Haleigh Washington is the middle player of the women’s volleyball team. Since 2018, she has been a member of the US Women’s National Team. To her glory, she added the title of the best middle blocker at the Tokyo Olympic Games. She did her best in the Volleyball Nations League Final Round. She was also present in weeks 2 and 3 and led the team to the victory point. However, unfortunately, Micha Hancock was out of the final round because of an injury.

 The final round was full of thrills and adventure. The dominant player Annie Drews fetched 27 points. “My focus coming into tonight was to just be where my feet were and fill in the gaps as needed,” Drews said. “We sometimes talk about how we want to feel after the match is over. Can we truly say we have nothing left in the tank or finished with no regrets? So that was in the back of my mind tonight; playing in a way where I wouldn’t regret anything.”

The team with full confidence and ability is all ready to clinch Gold in the summer Olympics. They are in their best form. After securing their berth in the Paris Olympics after this Paris Qualifier, they are ready to win more titles. Stay tuned for the upcoming events.
