Keeping his feet planted in both realms of combat sports, American college student Cohlton Schultz is reaching new heights. While the Arizona State University wrestler is already following in the footsteps of Kurt Angle, he is also setting his sights on the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Cohlton Schultz is a senior heavyweight collegiate wrestler with a dazzling wrestling resume to his name. He isn’t just a highly skilled wrestler but has also made considerable headway in the direction of pro wrestling with WWE. A recently uploaded social media post revealed that Schultz has a chance to take a clear shot at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

USA Wrestling recently tweeted an update regarding an upcoming Greco-Roman wrestling fixture on its official X account. The tweet said, “2023 World Team members Ildar Hafizov, Kamal Bey & Cohlton Schultz, medalists at the 2023 Pan American Games, will advance to the finals of the Senior Nationals in Fort Worth. This event is the Greco-Roman qualifier for the U.S. team for the Pan American Olympic Games Qualifier.”

Kamal Bey, Ildar Hafizov had Cohlton Schultz registered thunderous performances at the recent 2023 Pan Am Games in Santiago. A chance to make it to the 2024 Paris Olympics comes as the second big shot for Schultz, who wrestles in the 130kg category. At just 23 years of age, Cohlton Schultz has appeared in seven world wrestling tournaments and has an NIL deal with the WWE as well.

Colton Schultz has always been a big fan of WWE, especially in his high school days. Schultz has been wrestling since he was three or four and loved to watch pro wrestling and was in awe when he received an NIL deal. In fact, the WWE has offered Schultz a five-figure contract for brand promotion while they provide him with excellent facilities.

Cohlton Schultz and the ‘Next in Line’ program 

The ‘Next in Line’ program of WWE annually provides a chance to 15 wrestling talents from the US to become a WWE Superstar. Cohlton Schultz bagged his spot for the opportunity by virtue of being the best collegiate pound-per-pound collegiate wrestler in the nation. The Next in Line program signed Schultz in its second edition of selections, after its inaugural run in December 2022.

The 130-kg wrestler is set to gain several important lessons from an industry leader like WWE. This will include communications, brand building, live event promotion, media training, creative writing, and community relations. While Schultz already has an opportunity with WWE in the bag, his Pan Am Games exploits put the 2024 Paris Olympics in the direct line of his sight. Will the future WWE superstar be able to capitalize on the opportunity to wrestle on the mats of Paris?
