Olympic Champion Lindsey Vonn and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Pay Tribute to Operation Purple Camp With Veterans Day Collection

Dwayne Johnson never shies away from doing a good deed. Apart from promoting many social causes, Johnson has a long history of supporting US military veterans. Almost every year, the former WWE Champion comes out with an apparel collection on Veterans Day. In 2019, Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn joined Project Rock as an ambassador and has been helping promote various good causes ever since.

On November 3, Project Rock announced its new Veterans Day collection to support Operation Purple Camp. Vonn took to Instagram to promote the initiative.

The champion alpine skier posted a set of three pictures on Instagram wearing the Veterans Day collection apparel. The training gear the 38 year old wore in the pictures included a tank top and leggings. Vonn wrote, “United by strength. This year’s @projectrock Veterans Day Collection proudly supports @militaryfamilyorg (National Military Family Association) and their Operation Purple Camp. Shop the gear and join us in supporting at the link in bio.”

The National Military Family Association’s official website describes Operation Purple Camp as an initiative for kids belonging to military families. Apart from helping kids connect through a free week of camp, the association also aims to support the mental well-being of these youths whose parents are always serving the nation.

This isn’t the first time the champion skier has promoted a Veterans Day collection of workout apparel. She did so in 2021 as well. However, last year Johnson teamed up with Under Armour to support the Travis Manion Foundation.

The Rock also posted on Instagram about his brand’s initiative. Johnson always collaborates with Under Armour for his Veterans Day collections and this year is no different. The collection includes workout apparel for both men and women, and also Project Rock branded headphones.

Lindsey Vonn found a mentor in Dwayne Johnson

Lindsey Vonn and Johnson’s friendship started after ‘The Rock’ told Sports Illustrated that Vonn could keep up with him in the gym. However, Johnson’s statement surprised Vonn so much she called him up. Shortly, the pair became good friends. Vonn also said that, “apart from being the nicest human, Dwayne is also a mentor. I’ve learned a lot from him”.

While Dwayne Johnson has been an entrepreneur for a long time, Lindsey is starting. However, Vonn, who helps young girls through her foundation, is no stranger to supporting good causes. After teaming up with Johnson, Lindsey also got the opportunity to help veterans.
