With the Olympics only months away, Cael is once again hopeful about NLWC’s performance on the grand stage, and he has a few tips to help budding wrestlers find their calling.
Penn State wrestling HC urges youngsters to get back to the basics

In a recent post on X by the Wrestling Rabbit Hole account, the Penn State wrestling HC can be seen imparting crucial wisdom to rising stars. “…the No. 1 thing’s effort“, Cael can be heard saying, underscoring how physical striving can be the one thing that becomes the determining factor between success and failure. “You figure things out by just trying it,” reiterates Sanderson, before elaborating on his thoughts.

“It’s a hustle sport,” Cael goes on to underscore. Sanderson mentions that it’s pivotal to fathom the fact that wrestling, at the end of it all, comes down to learning the techniques through hustling and pushing physical boundaries. The video, aptly captioned, “Hustle first, technique second. Cael Sanderson.“, sees the Penn State legend mentioning that being determined to hold ground is a crucial thing that can help to take the game to the opponents on the mat.

“Don’t wait for technique, be tough, make it happen,” sounded Sanderson’s resolute advice to a bunch of aspiring wrestlers who sit around in a scattered manner. And he undoubtedly has some dreams of his own for his Penn State boys.
NLWC making Sanderson brace up with another national dream run
Sanderson has previously admitted that 2024 will be different thanks to the looming shadow of the 2024 Paris Olympic overhead. With 12 Penn State wrestlers having qualified for the Olympic Team Trials, Sanderson will justifiably be hoping to see some of his lads making it on the podium at the French capital later this year. However, the recent injury of one of the roster’s top talents, Carter Starocci, has made things tumultuous for the NLWC’s NCAA dreams this season. However, Sanderson thinks things aren’t something to be worried about.
