Imagine a powerful rock shield behind you. Whenever you face challenges, that rock protects you. For American wrestler Kennedy Blades, that rock is her family. “I think just having a strong rock behind you is the biggest thing of success,” the gold medalist stated. Brazilian jiu-jitsu was Kennedy and Korina’s childhood sport. At that point, their parents pushed them to start wrestling since they thought it would be a better way to use their energy. It turned out that this choice changed everything. Saul and Cindy’s commitment went beyond providing comfort. They frequently relocated to provide their girls access to improved wrestling clubs and training options.
During Kennedy’s Wyoming Seminary high school generations, their dedication was further proved. The girls could compete at the highest levels since the Blades family traveled widely. Kennedy’s effort paid off, as she qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, among other honors. “Honestly, I think it’s just such an honor to represent the Best Country.” Kennedy Blades shared, “And I’ve had this dream since I was seven years old, as a little girl.” However, her path gained substantially from the family’s steadfastness.
