Braxton Brown usually wrestles in the 125-pound weight class and is one of America’s top wrestlers in that category. However, Brown represented the Terps in the 133-pound weight class as they clashed against the Panthers in a wrestling dual. Big Ten Wrestling tweeted a video of Brown on its official X account, showcasing his excellent technique against a major opponent. The tweet carried the caption, “Hot start for @TerpsWrestling! Braxton Brown makes his 133 debut and upsets No. 13 Vinnie Santaniello of Pittsburgh.”

Brown went into the second bout between both colleges and delivered Maryland its first win of the dual. Brown wrestled with a composed mindset and patiently scored points while defending himself properly.

The match ended with Brown taking a decision victory by 6-3 against USA’s 13th-ranked collegiate wrestler. While Brown gave an early advantage to Maryland, the Terps failed to capitalize on his efforts against Pittsburgh Wrestling.
