Coming up with two consecutive losses against Dylan Ragusin and Nic Bouzakis, Penn State’s Aaron Nagao entered the wrestling mat with an aim to break his losing streak. However, tables turned around as Aaron locked horns. Interestingly, Shawver landed with three takedowns against Aaron to conclude today’s showdown with the biggest victory of the early season by 9-6.
While it was Shawver’s second consecutive win against top 12 ranking wrestlers, Aaron counted another loss to his losing streak in the past five matches. Although Penn State faced a major upset with Aaron’s defeat, it was the only defeat Penn State faced as the team won nine of the ten showdowns at the event. But this is not the only reason to celebrate.
