Maroulis had a tough patch as she was forced out of wrestling due to a series of concussions in 2018 & 2019, Coupled with mental health issues leading to suicidal thoughts, Maroulis had her hands tied. However, the wrestler has been open about her struggles with mental health. “I was completely normal, and all of a sudden they put me in this psych ward” she said. The wrestler worked hard to overcome her illness but failed to make it to Tokyo Olympics.
