Once again, Spencer is in the limelight, not for a recent win or defeat but for something else. 

Iowa Wrestlers’ Awaited Update

After Spencer’s remarkable appearance at the 2024 Pan American Championships, Flow Wrestling took to their Instagram account and uploaded a story indicating a massive update about the wrestler. They uploaded a couple of pictures and videos of the wrestler and penned, ” Flowfilm on Austin and Spencer Coming on March 113.” Apart from this, the video clip also features Spencer talking about his showdown with Austin DeSanto. 

University of Iowa Wrestling fans across the globe have become accustomed to catching a glimpse of both Spencer and Austin DeSanto engaging in a tournament together. The last time Lee and DeSanto paved their path while dominating their opponents was in the men’s freestyle semifinals at the US Open 2023. 

But this is not the only thing that attracts Iowa wrestling fans across the globe. Instead, spectators also feel thrilled to watch their favorite Iowa Hawkeyes lock horns against each other. Even though, this seems to be impossible these days, Spencer vs. Austin has happened before.

Spencer Lee vs. Austin DeSanto

During the high school wrestling days, both Spencer and DeSanto were considered arch-rivals who dominated each other on the wrestling mat. However, both wrestlers got into the limelight back in 2017 at the showdown of the State Finals. While Spencer was placed at No. 1 across the country, Drexel Commit DeSanto was at No. 4.

Soon after entering the mat, Spencer was seen struggling to overcome intense pressure. Finally, Spencer Lee witnessed one of the most significant losses against the No. 4 ranking wrestler in his high school career at the Pennsylvania State Final tournament. This left Spencer with a high school record of 144-1. However, this was merely the beginning of his incredible collegiate wrestling career.
