Penn State Wrestling star Roman Bravo Young once again won a million hearts with his indomitable spirit. The two-time NCAA Champion for the Nittany Lions recently secured his coveted spot for the 2024 Paris Olympics by giving the tough challenge to his opponents at the Pan-American qualifying tournament in Acapulco, Mexico.

He dominated his three opponents in the 57 kg freestyle weight class, outscoring them with a combined score of 35-10. After, earning the magnificent triumph, the Mexican-American freestyle wrestler is now all set to chase his Olympic glory this summer while representing Mexico. Roman Bravo Young praises his trainer for true mentorship

After qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning three bouts, Roman Bravo-Young is much obliged to have the same trainer as David Taylor, a US wrestler who presently competes in the 86-kilogram weight category. Aiming the win in the coming Olympic Games at 57kg Roman Bravo-Young disclosed his future endeavors in an interview with Flo Wrestling.

In a recent clip, posted on Twitter, it reads, “Roman Bravo-Young said he plans to remain at 57kg moving forward, including after the Olympic Games.” Apart from that, it further mentions that the talented wrestler is grateful for having the true guidance of SAM Coach Cal CALAVITTA, the founder of the Training Lab. The post caption further reads, “He credited Coach Cal at the Training Lab for helping him get down.”

Roman Bravo-Young used to wrestle at 133 pounds during his college days, however, he participated at 57 kilograms, in Mexico at the Pan-American qualifying tournament. In a recent post, he answers the question of how he has been adjusting his current weight of 57 kg in Mexico versus his college weight of 133 kg after a year or so.

From Tucson to Paris Olympics

Hailing from Tucson, Arizona, Roman Bravo-Young had a spectacular collegiate career at Penn State. He won multiple NCAA titles, i.e., in 2021 and 2022 with Penn State at a 101-10 record. His high school record peaked at 182-0 along with four state titles.

As the two-time NCAA champion qualified in the Pan-American qualifying tournament in Acapulco his perfect 3-0 record comes against his opponents Enrique Armando Herrera Huacre (Peru), Meijas Rodriguez Pedro Jesus (Venezuela), and Oscar Tigreros (Colombia). The three-time Big 10 champion is now journeying from Tucson to Paris to actualize his Olympic dreams.
