When David Taylor took over Oklahoma State Wrestling as a coach, there was bound to be a shake-up. Despite initial doubts about his ability, sometimes from the man himself, he wanted his wrestlers to be in their best shape and behavior. Thus, when Jordan Williams was arrested for alcohol-related crimes, he decided to pull the switch and dismiss him from the team. He wrote a statement, “Jordan Williams is no longer part of the Cowboys Wrestling program due to violation. We wish him well as he moves forward.”
Williams was charged with public intoxication and injury to property. His actions could result in him spending a year in jail or $500 in fines or both. Thus, it seemed like Taylor really had no choice but to dismiss him. However, it now appears that Williams has found a new home for himself quite quickly since the incident.

In an X post by Drew Blogs, it was announced that the University of Arkansas had recruited Jordan Williams to their wrestling program: the Little Rock Wrestling. It comes as an interesting development as it has been barely a few days since his dismissal from Oklahoma. But, that’s all in the past as Williams seems to want to start a new chapter. However, this is not before addressing the old one.
Williams talked about his crimes in his Instagram Story and showed remorse. He said, “Yes, it happened,” “I would like to apologize to everyone that supports me. I made a mistake and I can’t go back and change that and also I am doing well!! also wanted to say thank you to Oklahoma State!!” What makes it worse is that it’s the second time that he has been arrested for alcohol-related crimes.

Although still in the early part of his tenure, David Taylor hasn’t wasted a single minute trying to instill his ethos into the team. He immediately noticed that the athletes were not in the right condition that he wanted them to be in. Thus, he has said that health and fitness will have to be taken to another level. Plus, he has claimed that the door is open for anybody who doesn’t want to stay under his tutelage. At the end of the day, he will only coach those athletes who want to be coached by him.
He means complete business in his endeavors as he has made his agendas of a fitter and more ethical team quite clear. Jordan Williams is a very good example of this, as he didn’t tolerate his off-court issues. This is despite Williams’ clear potential which he showed regularly in his high school and college. To defeat Penn State, Taylor needs to have everything in order. He is trying everything to achieve this. What do you make of the development involving Jordan Williams?
