Have an interesting take?

The heavyweight wrestler secured his spot on the Olympic team back in August for the 125 kg event category. He faced off against Hayden Zilmer and won the best-of-three matches with 7-0 scores. He will hope to bring back the gold won by Gable Steveson in Tokyo in the same category. Based on his previous performances, the chances are looking good. During his collegiate days at Michigan, he became 4x All-American and won NCAA heavyweight championship in his senior year. Parris also earned the prestigious Dan Hodge Trophy, recognizing him as the best in college wrestling.

He had previously led the Wolverines with 32 wins against 13 losses. This was when he was just a freshman. He then obtained a record of 28-1 as a sophomore. He finished as the runner up for B1G Conference. In his senior year, he had a 33-0 record with 21 bonus wins. Besides this he had 11pons and 3 technical falls as well as 7 major decisions. In 2019, he won the World Junior Wrestling Championships. He posted a score of 4-0 and defeated his opponents with 36-3. In the 2023 World Wrestling Championships, he won a gold in the 125 kg category. He hopes to replicate this level of success in the Paris Olympics this August as well.
