The Penn State Wrestling Team is hosting the Ohio State Buckeyes at Rec Hall in one of the most intense NCAA wrestling duals. While OSU is trying to close in on the Nittany Lions, its 3x NCAA Champ Carter Starocci emerged with a big win.

Carter Starocci landed a huge blow to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 174-pound weight class. While the PSU superstar was the favorite for this bout, a social media post showcased that his unbeaten streak extender didn’t come easy.

Penn State Wrestling added a tweet to its official X account and broke the news of the 174lbs win. The tweet carried the caption, “174: No. 1 Carter Starocci PSU dec. No. 11 Rocco Welsh OSU, 4-2. Penn State 19, Ohio State 3” Ohio State Buckeyes’ Rocco Welsh put up a great fight against Carter Starocci, who mostly wins his matches via tech falls and pinfalls. With this, the 3x NCAA Champ now has a record 61 unbeaten wins, which is the longest active winning streak in the USA.

Carter Starocci has been on a roll since day one of his collegiate career when he was a freshman at PSU. Right now, he sits in the topmost position in the 174 category. Interestingly, he is also one favorite for his fourth straight national championship. Only five wrestlers, including Penn State coach Cael Sanderson, ahead of Starocci, have this feat. Through today’s match, Starocci gave another reason to call him a favorite. However, his entire team backed him up well in Penn State’s outing against the Buckeyes.

Feldman had clinched a decisive victory against the Michigan Wolverines last week. The 285-pounder broke the tie of 16-16 between both teams and won his bout by 4-3, earning OSU a 20-19 win. This time, however, he lost 12-0 to PSU’s first-ranking Greg Kirkvliet. Just like Carter Starocci, even the Nittany Lions extended their flawless season run to 8-0. Can anybody stop the juggernaut of Penn State and Starocci?
