Though Senior Day in actuality arrives during the NCAA tournament, the regular season end is one for fans to embrace. “It’s really not Senior Night. But it is for the fans, and for most of the fans it’s their last chance to see them in person,” coach Cael Sanderson remarks. And very well in alignment with the sentiments, Penn State fans expressed their wish to have seniors, Greg Kerkvliet and Carter Starocci consider an additional year in the program. In a clip shared by Basic Blues Nation, fans can be heard yelling ‘one more year’ from the stands of Rec Hall. If the duo willed, the fans could have their wish fulfilled.

In 2019, Greg Kerkvliet and Carter Starocci redshirted for their freshmen season. This allows the two wrestling stars to avail an additional season if they wish. Penn State believes Kerkvliet is most likely to make a return if he doesn’t win an individual national title next month. Because then he would slip from owning a multi-time national champ title. As for Starocci, he has earnd the fame as much as he could as a collegiate athlete. However, his recent injury can act as a hindrance to his goals for the season. Speculatively sparking an interest for a comeback.
