The Name, Image, Likeness brand deals have kept athletes bankable, relevant and made them diversify their repertoire beyond sports. Similarly, as the Paris Olympics 2024 is nearing, 2022 world silver medalist and a 2x US world team member Yianni Diakomihalis announced his collaboration with a very famous sports brand, Spartan Combat, which is revered for delivering quality sports apparel, footwear, and equipment. The brand has tied up with Yianni Diakomihalis to promote the sport itself and his chartering terrains beyond wrestling are here to stay.

The combat sports brand, declared as the best gear for wrestling champions, exclusively launched a series of footwear editions called the Yianni 001 Colorways, in conjunction with the captain of the ship, Yianni Diakomihalis himself. This sportive apparel dropped by the Yiannis’ spearheaded brand is now available in four different vibrant colors now available on the Spartan Combat’s official website and from the looks of it, they will start selling like hot cakes.

Spartan Combat took to their IG handle to showcase an eclectic range of the spirited colors depicting the profusion of the sport and showcased a combination of yellow-blue, blue-yellow, black-red, and yellow-red, respectively. The 2020 Pan American champion has chartered green pastures with Spartan Combat and is soon to be making a dent just like teen NIL sensation Olivia Dunne. However, this year he got his very own ‘signature shoes’, thus achieving a huge career milestone through this exciting collaboration.

In 2023, Hunter, a Wrestlers Grind YouTube Channel host, had put a review of his Yianni shoe edition from the Spartan Combat with great aplomb. Explaining the key features of his own experience, Hunter revealed that the shoes were very comfortable, lightweight, and had an amazing grip. The 4x NCAA D1 Champion, Yianni Diakomihalis, is now looking to cement his place at the mega games and seems to be laser focused on the prize.

Journey beyond the collaboration: Paris Olympics 2024

Although he lost the 2024 Pan Am Qualifiers against Nick Lee this season, the 65 kg wrestler, Yianni Diakomihalis, was contended to announce his special brand forged chapter in his ongoing wrestling episode. Joining the top NCAA wrestlers program with the combat sports brand, the recent Instagram caption read, “Spartan Combat the choice of champions! #LeaveYourMark.”

If one news was transpiring, the other NCAA news was disrupted enough to announce the injury of Yianni Diakomihalis during his first match. Resultingly, reflecting his loss even through the second match, he chose to withdraw from the championship. Diakomihalis will now look to turn the tides in his favor and how far will he go? Time will tell.
