Aaron Brooks is finally Paris-bound! Days after the American wrestler sealed his Olympic slot with a thriving 4-1 victory over David Taylor at the US Olympic Wrestling Trials, his U23 World Championships’ drug test fiasco turned the tide and had his qualification put on ice. However, 11 days after the Wrestling Room’s X post surfaced the allegations, the Penn State wrestler has received a clean chit.

Last week, Aaron Brooks’ interview with Justin Basch had put things into perspective for his fans. Now, another fresh update from podcast Baschamania’s Instagram handle has publicized the wrestler’s official go-ahead for the Paris Olympics.

Baschamania’s latest Instagram post displays one of Brooks’ match-winning moments. Captioned as “An Update” it informs fans that the Nittany Lions star is let off the hook. Also, putting an end to the much-drawn conjecture, it confirms that Brooks’ U23/prescription issue has been officially settled. “Olympic Trials Winner Aaron Brooks has officially been cleared for the Olympics, wrapping up the prescription/U23 issue he talked about on @Baschamania last week,” the post read.

This tremendous revelation implies that Brooks is off to his first Olympic representation ever, in the 86kg category. However, despite surmounting a gigantic hurdle in his career, Brooks’ reaction to his clearance was surprisingly nonchalant. Re-uploading Baschamania’s post as his Instagram story, Brooks simply added a big winking face emoji from his end.

While there have been intense speculations pouring in for him throughout the past week, Brooks has chosen to not voice his thoughts. However, he had spoken about the controversy in an interview with Justin Basch: “I’m surprised it took this long for people to twist it…I thought this was gonna happen right away like oh he’s using steroids.” Brooks had been confident that would clear the allegations and also had said that such attacks do not take a toll on him. This became evident with his silent response. Meanwhile, it is apparent from the reactions that the 23-year-old wrestler’s fans and close supporters are truly elated for him.

Aaron Brooks’ father, John Brooks, has publically flaunted his jubilation ahead of his son’s maiden Olympic representation. Posting two of the wrestler’s pictures from a rip-roaring match on X, John goes on to applaud Aaron on his monumental victory.

As the father pens his excitement and good wishes for the athlete, one of the fans in the comment section calls it a  “#ProudDadMoment.” Moreover, corroborating the information’s veracity and hailing the father’s expression, even the Wrestling Room’s official X account re-shared John’s post.

Clearly, while the happiness is mutual, the father-son duo has resorted to different approaches to expression. However, in the end, it remains unquestionable that with a controversy of such magnitude, Brooks’ career could have suffered a potentially irreversible setback. Against this backdrop, his disassociation from the same is a major sigh of relief for both his family and fans. Yet, Aaron has been silent so far. Maybe the wrestler is inching towards giving fitting answers with his performance on the wrestling mat. But that remains to be seen in the Paris Olympics 2024.
