As the Road to Paris Olympics is only a few days to reach its final destination, athletes across the globe are gearing up to take up the Olympic spot before it’s too late. Along the same lines, Kamal Bey is igniting to punch his tickets to the Paris Olympics. Consequently, he decided to come up on the Pan American Wrestling Championships mat scheduled on 21-24 Feb, looking for the opportunity.
However, the 2023 Santiago Pan American Games star who enabled the USA to achieve rare commotion failed to accomplish the desired results as he failed to make a place for himself at the final showdown of the championship. But Kamal managed to keep up the spectators’ expectations at the bronze medal bout.
Kamal Bay shines at 77kgs Showdown

After the conclusion of the Bronze medal showdown at the Pan American Championships 2024, USA Wrestling took it to their Twitter account and shared ecstatic news among Kamal Bey’s spectators. They penned, “GR 77 kg – Kamal Bey tech. fall Wuileixix Rivas Espinoza (Venezuela), 11-1. Bey secures bronze at the Pan-American Championships.”

Agitated after a recent defeat that stopped the 77kg wrestling contender from the USA from competing at the final showdown, Kamal Bey embarked on the Pan American Wrestling Championship Mat to dominate the opponent while keeping an eye on a Bronze medal. Eventually, Kamal Bey did what he aimed for. Venezuela’s Wuileixix Rivas Espinoza lost the bronze medal bout because of a technical fall at 77kg. Even though Kamal Bey clinched the bronze bout, he will not be able to get a spot in the US team trials.

Kamal Bey has been unstoppable throughout the Pan American Championships at 77kgs. He paved his path after defeating David Choc Huoc of Guatemala by 10-0 in the quarterfinal showdown. Emerging as a force that needs to be reckoned with, Kamal faced a major upset at the semifinal showdown.
Unfortunately, Kamal, despite pouring all of his efforts, was not able to overcome Jair Cuero Munoz of Colombia. Consequently, he suffered a 6-6 loss in the semifinal bout due to decision. As only the gold medalist in each weight will be getting the coveted spot at US Olympic trails, Kamal, due to his loss at the semis, is out of the race.

However, the hopes for USA’s Greco-Romans punching their tickets to Paris are still alive. The contenders competing for the spot from Team USA include Camden Russell, Randon Miranda, Hayden Tuma, Alejandro Sancho, Noah Wachsmuth, Mahmoud Sebie, Spencer Woods, and Alan Vera Garcia. Now the question is: Will USA’s Greco-Romans be able to clinch an Olympic spot?
