Lee faced a loss against Carlos Munoz in the very first match of the tournament, but he made sure to return with more power in this one. This is why he maintained an indomitable competitive spirit, which made him clinch an international gold medal at the tech with a scoreboard of 12-2.
Lee made his way back to international competition after 8 years and left the jaws of all his fans open. Despite having a fierce day of competition at the men’s freestyle, the USA teams are painting their dominance on the field. Lee added the cherry on top, as he is the first American to secure a victory without conceding any points.
The three-time NCAA champion secured his status as one of the greatest players of all time. Recently, he bagged a victory at the Senior National Freestyle title, where he opened up about his motivations and aspirations in the interview that took place later. He shared, “I went to just compete; you know, I like competing.” With that, he added, “I am an international guy now, I am no longer a college guy. I don’t have every single week of competition like in college you have. So, like, when there’s an opportunity to compete, it just makes sense.”

Not only that but fans were also very eager to see a match between the Iowa Hawkeyes’ star wrestler and Nick Suriano. Recently, Suriano claimed a gold medal in the 61kg category so they will be wrestling against each other in the 57kg weight category. Their rivalry has crossed paths many times before, but the arch started in 2012’s Super 32 Finals.
