With the Paris Olympics inching ever closer, the race to secure a spot in the national team is getting more intense than ever. Amid this, 2022 World Championships gold winner Dominique Parrish has qualified for the team trials and the USA’s hopes for the Olympics look brighter than ever.
The Pan Am Olympic qualifiers continue to yield positive results

In a recent Twitter post by the official USA Wrestling account, Parrish’s latest achievement has been shed light upon in an emphatic manner. “QUALIFIED“, reads the caption of the latest post accompanied by a short video clip to celebrate Dom’s latest feat. The USA swept its opponents aside at the Pan American Championships in Mexico and Parrish will once again be fueling the hopes of maintaining the country’s dominance in the women’s 53kg weight class at the Paris Olympics.

Despite being the 2022 world champion, Parrish’s return to the competition in 2023 saw her ousted from the tournament in the very first round. With that in mind, her latest win will surely provide a much-needed boost to the engines.

In the women’s 62kg weight class, Parrish started her journey by taking down Chilean Antonia Arriagada with a resounding 10-0 win by tech fall. The win over the Pan Am Games medalist Arriagada proved to be a pivotal moment for Parrish as she went ahead to defeat Laura Avila of Cuba in the semifinal match 9-6. However, she won’t be the only one to buckle up once again as the team trials approach.
More USA wrestlers eye their place in the national team
Kayla Miracle and Amit Elor have both enhanced the USA’s dreams for the Games after qualifying for the team trials in the 62kg and 68kg weight classes, respectively. While Miracle’s brilliant Pan American Championships run was rounded off with a gold medal, Elor didn’t manage to find similar success at the tournament. However, Elor will definitely try to make the next chance count and take on the national team trials with renewed vigor.
