After a stellar wrestling career, Logan Stieber started coaching. Joining the position of an assistant coach with the Buckeyes, Stieber helped the wrestlers off the mat instead of on the mat. Stieber is one of the most prolific wrestlers in the history of American wrestling. He was elected to the Ohio State Hall of Fame in 2022.

The American former freestyler and folkstyle wrestler has competed internationally in 61 and 65 kilograms. He won the non-Olympic world championship at 61 kgs and then later in 2018 won the Pan-American title. He won the Big Ten Championships consecutively from 2012 to 2015.

Living in the Hall of Fame

The 2016 World Champion at 61 kgs and now an assistant coach to Ohio State Logan Stieber has been inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. The class of 2024 includes Toccara Montgomery, Tadaaki Hatta, J.R. Johnson, Coleman Scott, Darryl Miller, recipient of medal of courage Jonathan Koch and Outstanding American honoree retired United States Army Infantry Colonel Steve Banach as distinguished members.

Logan Stieber and Coleman Scott became the first two national winners of the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award to be inducted as distinguished members.

Stieber’s achievements as a wrestler have been nothing less than extraordinary from winning the world champion title in 2016 to helping the USA win the team title in 2018 and capturing the Pan American title in 2018. Logan Stieber’s wrestling status is nothing less than legendary.

Stieber is the most deserving

It is because of his extraordinary career and his contribution to the wrestling community as a coach that he has been awarded the status of distinguished member. The list of Stieber’s achievements goes a long way. From being the first wrestler in the history of Big Ten to win the four national titles. He became the first Ohio State Wrestler to win four Big Ten titles. He gloriously finished his career on a 50-match winning streak in 2013.

He was the fastest Buckeye to reach the 100-win milestone. He also had a .975 winning percentage; he was the first in Ohio State History to have that. These are a fraction of his countless achievement that makes him more than suitable for the honour that will be bestowed upon him.

During the 47th Honors weekend on May 31 and June 1, 2024, Stieber will be officially inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
