While Iowa Hawkeyes and Penn State wrestling teams are amongst the top contenders in the annals of collegiate wrestling, Ohio State Buckeyes have proved they are no less than others. Initiating the arch-rivalry from 1924, Ohio Buckeyes recently locked horns against Michigan Wolverines for the 92nd time.

Eventually, Buckeyes, with the help of its exceptional wrestlers added to the roaster, not only managed to defeat the opponent team but also poured the limelight on one of the key contenders. Impressively, Ohio State improved to an 11-1 overall score, adding a recent win. Apart from an overall team win, Ohio State also managed to add another weekly accolade to its collection.

Nick Feldman bags his maiden honor

In a recent match against the opponent team, No. 13 Michigan State, Ohio Buckeyes’ wrestling sensation Nick Feldman displayed remarkable moves on the wrestling mat. Consequently, the Ohio State freshman has been awarded the NCAA Wrestlers of the Week by the NCAA wrestling community for his incredible showdown. To share this ecstatic news among the spectators of Nicke Feldman, NCAA Wrestling took it to their official Twitter account and posted a couple of photographs of him watermarked as Wrestlers of the Week for Week 13. Besides this, they also penned “NCAA Wrestler of the Week.

Soon after entering the wrestling mat, Nick Feldman started dominating the mat. Directly after this, Feldman managed to orchestrate a come-from-back against No. 19 Lewis Fernandes in the final 30 seconds of the third period. Along the same line, Feldman got the match-winning takedown 6-4, along with a decision to secure a team win. Consequently, Feldman not only clinched an epic victory against the opponent but also accomplished his first-ever “Wrestler of the Week” accolade.

Ohio State Buckeyes’ sensation’s triumph continues

By winning the recent bout against Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes improved to 11-1 overall. Feldman contributed to the team’s total of 3 honors this season. Feldman’s win added Ohio’s second consecutive victory against the top 10 and the third of this wrestling season. Overall, Nicke has always been under the spotlight after joining the Ohio State Buckeyes this season.

Competing in the 285-pound weight category, Nick’s hunger to achieve better is visible in his showdown. Apart from the recently added accolade, he also boasts the win at his first collegiate wrestling event at the Clarion Open Held last year with a remarkable 5-0 record.
