Kyle Snyder’s former coach at Ohio State describes him as “ungodly strong”. Recently, the 97kg powerhouse wrestler raised the curtain from his secret training routine, which is one of the most vital ingredients in his recipe for success. In a YouTube video on the Rogue Fitness channel, Kyle Snyder attributed the credit to his strength training program. Titled, “Six Months Out From The 2024 Olympics With Rogue Athlete Kyle Snyder”, the video took the viewers behind the scenes to his gym setup. Kyle Snyder still noted that “wrestling is number 1” while the vision board in the gym showcased the Olympic rings drawn in black ink. However, the board also read, “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO GET BETTER TODAY?” with a list of agendas to answer the question. For the wrestling legend, all the agendas boiled down to his strength training routine.

He analyzed his form and technique as core proponents of his success in wrestling. His “longevity” at the elite level as well as his confidence are all a boon of strength training. He wished to instill the fear of God in his rivals at the Paris Olympics and sent them an intimidating message that said, “I will be the most dominant wrestler on the mat and make my opponents never want to compete against me”. Surprisingly, Kyle Snyder also revealed that his humbling experience at the World Wrestling Championships has paved the way for his Olympics campaign.

A humble champion

Kyle Snyder could not grab the gold at the World Wrestling Championship and had to satisfy himself with the bronze. Citing “I am not happy with it,” he began training harder with his coaches. He said, “Wrestling is a humbling sport and you have to be humble to continue to improve”. On the training mat, his gold medals do not mean as much as the coach’s words. Synder adheres to every piece of advice from the coach and hones his God-given gifts.
