Ohio State has managed to pull through a remarkable confluence of the present with the past. Setting the stage to reckon the glories of five heroes with Kyle Snyder occupying the spotlight, the current wrestlers on the roster can draw inspiration from the successes of these heroic alumnae.
Five wrestling champions as the source of inspiration for Big Ten contention

With one loss on the record books, Ohio State Wrestling is moving into the next matchup of the Big Ten season at a disadvantage. Therefore, coach Tom Ryan wittingly orchestrated the Alumni Night to coincide with this pivotal match against Maryland, providing the team with the resource of an embellished track record for the program. In that trot, Ohio State Wrestling presented the accomplishments of their five most successful “bucks” on a carousel of X posts.
1. Kyle Snyder
Kyle Snyder is the most recent graduate of the Ohio State Wrestling program to have made a name for himself in the world. A three-time National Champion and four-time All-American, he earned the prestigious Big Ten Medal of Honor in 2018. Additionally, for his impeccable captaincy, Ohio State anointed him with the University’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2016, 17, and 18.
2. Logan Stieber
This wrestling virtuoso secured four consecutive National Championships and four Big Ten titles between 2012 and 2015. His resume includes the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award, the prestigious Hodge Trophy, and the 2015 NCAA Most Dominant Wrestler title.
His dominance in the sport was recognized by both the Ohio State Hall of Fame and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
3. J Jaggers
He achieved honors at the National Championships in 2008 and 2009, accompanied by three All-American titles from 2007 to 2009. J Jaggers became a letterwinner during all four years of his captaincy and was inducted into the Ohio State Hall of Fame in 2015.
4. Tommy Rowlands
Now aged 42, this Ohio State Wrestling alumna was a powerhouse in his time.
His tenure earned him two National Championships, four All-Americans, and two Big Ten Championships titles. Ohio State Hall of Fame place setting speaks volumes about Tommy Rowlands’ dominance.

5. Kevin Randleman
Now deceased, this remarkable athlete had a storied career with two National Championships, three All-Americans, and three Big Ten Championships titles under his belt. Recognized in the Ohio State Hall of Fame in 2004, Randleman also earned All-Big Ten honors three times.
