The NCAA Division 1 wrestling championship ended on Saturday, and Daniel Cormier fairly enjoyed the show as the commentator. The former UFC heavyweight fighter and NCAA wrestling champion embraced the commentary duty in the championship after having immense popularity in the UFC stint. But that did not take away the funny side of the 45-year-old.
Last night, a situation unfolded where the former World Championship medalist shared his quirky call on a fellow Olympian wrestler. As a result, both the veterans enjoyed the panned-out moment entirely.

Last night, at the NCAA Division 1 wrestling championship, Daniel Cormier was present to continue his commentary responsibility. However, among the flag bearers in the game, Cormier noted Ben Askren, the former Olympic wrestler and MMA fighter, standing with the placard. The merrier commentary could only pronounce, “I’ll come up there and kick your a**. I’ll come up there and whip you”. The benevolent banter filled Askren with a grin as he also made a certain gesture toward his compatriot. The entire experience came out as Cormier’s IG story today, claiming Askren “My Guy”. In the meantime, the exchange of funny expressions continued in that tense state.
After noticing the former MMA in contrasting attire, Cormier extended his banter. “Hey you look s***. Look at that outfit. Oh my goodness,” the commentator chuckled. Ben Askren was all delighted making funny gestures, caring less about the surroundings. However, the championship final result did not match Daniel Cormier’s expression.

Daniel Cormier’s night to forget
Sharing a bond with Oklahoma State since his NCAA wrestling days, Daniel Cormier supported Daton Fix in the 133-pound finals yesterday. It was his fourth NCAA wrestling final appearance. It went down just like those previous three had gone once- by being the runner-up. The Cornell standout Vito Arujau defeats him by the scoreline of 5-3. Subsequently, Dustin Plott, the OSU senior, also faced his defeat in the 184-category final. But that wasn’t all. Soon, he made a major announcement.

On the same night, the former heavyweight champion had to face stark complaints from the NCAA fans for several reasons. Those arguments led to Cormier’s ultimate decision later. “Guys im out. This will be my last time doing the NCAA tournament. Continue to do things the same way and stay wrestling that hasn’t changed since the 40’s. I told the general public to watch a guy told me he’d rather tear his eyes out than watch. So enjoy. I’ll finish tonight and I’m out !” he penned on X. Things clearly seem to be heated up in the Olympic year.
